Arsenal Draw 2-2 with FC Bayern in Champions League Quarterfinal First Leg
Saka and Trossard Goals Keep Gunners in Contention
Bavarian Giants Strike Twice, But Arsenal Shows Resilience
London, England - Arsenal and FC Bayern Munich played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal an early lead with a delightful curled effort, but Bayern equalized just minutes later through Serge Gnabry, who pounced on a defensive error to finish coolly past Manuel Neuer.
The second half was equally exciting, with Leandro Trossard restoring Arsenal's advantage in the 65th minute after a fine pass from Gabriel Jesus. However, Bayern refused to be denied and Leroy Sane popped up with an equalizer in the 85th minute, capitalizing on another defensive lapse by the Gunners.
Despite the draw, Arsenal can take heart from their performance, especially in the second half. They showed great resilience to come back from a goal down and could have even won the game late on when Saka went down in the box, but the referee waved away penalty appeals.
The second leg of the tie will be played in Munich on April 16, and Arsenal will need to produce another strong performance to reach the semifinals.
