WEB Barcelona Dragons Re-sign Quarterback Zach Magic Edwards
Versatile Playmaker Returns to Catalan Capital
Edwards Brings Stability and Experience to Dragons' Offense
The WEB Barcelona Dragons have re-signed quarterback Zach Magic Edwards, ensuring the return of one of the most versatile and dynamic signal-callers in the league. Edwards' re-signing is a significant boost for the Dragons, who are looking to build on a promising 2022 campaign.
Edwards, a former standout at Valdosta State University, has emerged as a key figure for the Dragons since joining the team in 2021. His unique skillset, combining mobility, arm strength, and decision-making, has made him one of the most effective quarterbacks in the European League of Football (ELF).
In 2022, Edwards led the Dragons to an overall record of 6-4, narrowly missing out on a playoff berth. He threw for 1,612 yards with 13 touchdowns and just four interceptions, while also rushing for 321 yards and six touchdowns. His ability to extend plays and create scoring opportunities proved invaluable for the Dragons.
Head Coach Andrew Weidinger expressed his delight at Edwards' return: "Zach is a phenomenal quarterback who brings a wealth of talent to our team. He is a leader on and off the field, and his versatility makes him a nightmare for opposing defenses. We are thrilled to have him back in Barcelona."
Edwards, who has also earned recognition as ELF MVP of the Week, is excited to continue his journey with the Dragons. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to re-sign with the Barcelona Dragons," said Edwards. "This city has embraced me, and I am committed to giving my all for this team and our fans. We have unfinished business, and I believe we can achieve great things together in 2023."
