Alabama has a rich history of success in the Miss America pageant. The state has produced three Miss America titleholders: Deidre Downs in 2005, Heather Whitestone, the first deaf woman to win the crown in 1995, and most recently, Brianna Burrell in 2023.

2023-2024 Miss Alabama Local Preliminary Schedule and Winners

The preliminary schedule for the 2023-2024 Miss Alabama competition has been announced. Local competitions will be held across the state from September to November 2023. The winners of each local competition will advance to the state competition in December 2023.

How to Enter the Miss Alabama Competition

Interested young women can find information on how to enter the Miss Alabama competition on the Miss Alabama website. The deadline to enter is typically in August or September. Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 24 and must be a resident of Alabama.

Brianna Burrell: Alabama's New Miss America

Brianna Burrell was crowned Miss Alabama 2023 in a ceremony held at Samford University in Birmingham. Burrell is a 25-year-old graduate of Auburn University and is passionate about science, math, and her home state of Alabama.
