Aguero's Hat-Trick Powers Manchester City to Top of Premier League
Silvas Late Goal Keeps City's FA Cup Hopes Alive
Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League table with a resounding 6-0 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Sergio Aguero was the star of the show, netting his second hat-trick in eight days. Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan also got on the scoresheet as City put in a dominant display against their title rivals.
The win was a major boost for City's title hopes, as they moved back above Liverpool, who had earlier beaten Wolves 2-0. Aguero's hat-trick took his tally for the season to 28, and he now leads the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.
City also kept their hopes of retaining the domestic double alive on Sunday, as they secured a 1-0 FA Cup semi-final victory against Chelsea at Wembley. Bernardo Silva scored the only goal of the game in the 75th minute, as Guardiola's side booked their place in the final against Watford.
The win was a measure of revenge for City, who were beaten by Chelsea in last season's FA Cup final. It also avenged their 6-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
City will now face Watford in the FA Cup final on May 18, while they will also travel to Brighton in the Premier League on the final day of the season.
